What about these brokens?

The second. I'd like to see it closer. The first looks like it carries too much black, the ears are too grayish. I prefer the heavier pattern. Castor is my favorite color, the one I want to specialize in, followed by dilutes.

Are we talking about the broken castor or the solid castor? sorry, just making sure we are discussing the same rabbits....lol!

I like the second castor better. From the little research I have done thus far on colors, you get the best castors out of castor to castor breeding. So you need two, my Sistah! Their type looks pretty good viewed from above- maybe you should get both castors and save a better marked castor buck from a litter?

Get both brokens or a broken and a solid?

I like the color of the solid doe better than the broken one. Also, both the broken doe and buck have a random pattern, and it is preferable for them to be as symmetrical as possible.

Patience, my Sistah! You will (hopefully!) be bringing home some brokens from CA!

I'm a sucker for tricolors. The pattern on the broken doe might not be the best, but I would love to have it. :)

I had a tri-color buck that I raised out of some crossed stock I had. I think there may be a picture of it somewhere on RT. I kept him when I sold all his siblings at 6 weeks, even though he was just "average" as far as Meat build was concerned. He grew into a terrific buck... Lost him last year when the heat got up to 108 for three days in a row. He made it the 1st 2 days, but the third was simply too much even with the ice bottle :(
