I was wondering about giving my buns (after the pens are built) several lengths of pvc piping. I could put in a few bends and splits to mimic actual burrows.

Anyone else do this?

We were planning on doing this and terminating them at a square made of mortar bricks which should feel more like earth and hold in heat or cool being made of concrete. They are only $1.25 for long enough even my big rabbits could just use a square of them as a nest.

Would be cheaper to use the drainage hoses with the ribs in them. Bigger and some have slits in them for drainage, but good for air flow for rabbits.

Yeppers! Thats what I was kinda planning as well. Great minds eh?

My only worry is the way rabbits chew things, is plastic going to hurt them if they eat bits of it?

Perhaps if I make the tunnels out of cinder block pegged in place with re-bar and cap it off with a solid block? Should be nice and cool and solid, as long as they cant digg under it.

__________ Sun Jun 24, 2012 12:51 pm __________

I absolutly love being able to think tank ideas with you guys, no one else I know actually cares about my rabbits lol.

Only thing is, they might be really difficult to clean. Air flow would definitely be good, though. :)
