I am wanting to get some new waterbottles. The ones I currently have are only 16oz and just not big enough for summer weather. I have two 32 oz that I like better, but where I get them from usually only has one or two at time. I was thinking maybe I could find some in bulk somewhere? I need the kind with the ball, not the lever (have no idea what the "correct" terms are for the parts) - I tried the lever ones when I first got the rabbits and it took me a couple days to realize they weren't getting much of anything out of them (didn't know the "normal" amount they should drink so I just figured they didn't drink much  ).

I found these - decent ones?

This is what I use..love them no leaks..only issue I have is stuff wanting to grow not only in the bottle but in the top as well..have extras on hand so when you do a cleaning you can do a few at a time. A nipple brush (baby bottle type :D ) works well on the tops but I clean the bottle with bleach and a few pebbles, I have heard of people using rice..but that is a waste of food... :)

Here are the bottles I use. They run about $6 each locally.
I have had bottles of other brands leak constantly, break, crack, etc.
These bottles never leak, and over the winter I had bottles freezing solid every day, and only had two (out of over 20) that the caps cracked when frozen.
I currently have about 40 of these.

Where at? We might get some when we go get the bucks from you tomorrow. We'll be needing more, and since we're in the area. Plus they seem to cost a great deal less than the ones we first bought where we are.

What I use is:
a two liter Soda Bottle with the nozzles that you can purchase
through most fenders or Bass Equipment Etc.
The nozzles are cheaper by the dozen and Soda Bottles are Free,
accept for the 5cent deposit loss. You get to drink the Soda or Seltzer.
You can't beat the Price! :)

I get them at big R, Danville or Tilton.
Lately they only seem to have one or three in stock at a time. Lately, anytime I am over there I buy them out.

Last time I was at the Tilton Big R, they had 3, but they were in a bag on the top shelf, not hanging where they belong. Though they have plenty of the thin, small, crappy bottles. I wish tractor supply carried them. But they do carry a half gallon bottle, kinda square shaped bottle, but it has the same style wide mouth, wide cap lid as lixit. I have two of those and they don't leak either. They are a little higher priced, but only $2 or $3 higher.

*eyes suspiciously* Innocent, is that what they're calling it these days?

We're going to be picking a lot for the rabbits tomorrow. Like feeders, and more water bottles. I made some redneck feeders this morning. Lmao, it's not pretty, but it gets the job done!

If you are buying the metal J style feeders, get them from tractor supply, not big r. There are things I like about each, and dislike about each, but the main thing is this, the pet lodge feeders at big r basically have window screen for the bottom. I have had several that get the screen torn when rabbits try to dig in the feed. When the screen tears, you get a lot of food wasted.
The feeders at tractor supply have a heavier expanded metal mesh for the bottom. I have yet to see a hole get torn into one of those.
The other thing I like, the trough area of the tractor supply feeders is just shallow enough that you only have to cut out a two inch tall section of the cage wire. With the pet lodge feeders at big r, you have to cut a three inch tall section out of the cage wire.

I can't drink anything that comes in a 2 liter. I will be ill for a week just drinking enough for one day.

I find my bulk box of lixits is plenty cost effective for the quality delivered to my door.

I was contemplating the 2 liters at one point, but we don't drink soda either, plus I have a touch of OCD (thanks, dad!) and like everything to be the same so potentially having mismatched bottles wasn't going to work for me (silly, I know  ). Thanks for the input! I haven't had any leaking issues with the ones I have (outside of the first time or two I used them, not sure what the deal was), so I was a bit paranoid to go with something different.

After trying both crocks and different water bottles my favorite are the Lixit wide mouth 64 oz.
I'm gradually switching to them with all my cages. They cost me $7.99 at Drs. Foster & Smith.
Which might be more than some bottles but obviously I don't have to refill them as often.
It works great too when there is a litter with their Mom.

I use the Lixit water bottles too. But I use the 16 oz. size because I only have Florida Whites (~5# maximum, full grown) so they don't drink that much. Plus, I change their water morning and evening.

I currently have rabbits in four cages but I ordered eight water bottles. I bought a portable table/sink at Tractor Supply (meant for cleaning fish, I think) with a built-in faucet that hooks up to a garden hose. Also bought a hose suitable for potable water.

I fill a 2 gallon plastic bucket with water, add a little bleach, and soak the 'used' water bottles when I change bottles. Each time I feed, I carefully wash out the bottles that have been soaking, fill them with cold water, then empty the 'old' water bottles and put them in the bleach water to soak until the next feeding.

Now that I have two new litters, I'll have to either order larger water bottles or maybe add one of those clip-on plastic crocks (along with the bottle) when the kits come out of the nest boxes.

I use, used pop bottles and switch around the nipples. I have 3 sets of 3 in the freezer. I lay them on their side so 1/2 the bottle has an ice cub in it. :p That way they always have cold water. The litter(+) bottles work very well.

Hope this helps.

Got them in Monday, finally filled them up today... I am liking the size! And the nozzle is a touch bigger as well so I am thinking the adult rabbits will like that better. Oh, and I ended up with purple! Much preferred over the seafoam green pictured (although I can see being frustrated if the opposite had happened). I ordered 2 cases to start (so 12 total). The lady I got some rabbits and hutches from gave me some converted oven mitts that she used in the winter... we'll see how well they do to prevent freezing (or at least prolong the inevitable). I might end up getting another dozen so I can rotate them out.
