Was REW possible in this mix?

Two are chin*, 2 are black and 2 are pure white. They are a bit smaller, so in the next few days I'll know the eye color.
But I thought I read/was told somewhere that this mix could only make himi, was that right or am I remembering differently?

*They look to have a tinge of brown, do you guys see that also? What could that mean, color-wise?

sure. you don't say what the parents are but I have had that mix in a litter with one chin parent that carries REW and another parent [black for example] that also carries REW. Since REW is the most recessive of the C group it could be "hidden" in any rabbit.

Yes, it could be himi.

Your cali can only be chch or chc. your amchin could be cchd with cchd, cchl, ch or c. If you have REW then it would be chc for the cali and cchdc for the amchin. If you have himi, then the amchin is either cchdch or cchdc, and it doesn't narrow down the cali's genetics any.

The best way to test the C gene is to breed to REW, since c is the most recessive.

Is both himi and rew possible in one litter with this pairing? it sounds like it might be?

Yes himi is also possible if the parents are chc and cchdc. any himi babies would be chc.

There is not and will probably never be something called a Chinchilla himi because that is impossible. Eeep.

I am not sure what you are asking here, but a
Himilayan, or REW, cannot carry the chinchilla colour gene
