So, I'm new to rabbit genetics. But I see people talking about this color or gene or pattern quite a not. So is there a way a rookie could get to know a little more about this?

Questions

1. How do you identify them, when I look them up, I just mostly images on BEW, Which I would love to breed, but how do I spot this type in my rabbits?

2. besides the BEW aspect, are the vienna colorings desirable in a pet market?

When I was selling for pet bunnies, the Vienna / BEW rabbits didn't sell well as pets.
Generally, my Vienna marked bunnies were mostly dutch marked, and those didn't sell.
And, while the BEW weren't as "creepy" to pet owners as the REW, they didn't sell nearly as easily as broken patterned bunnies either.

Just for reference, my Vienna / BEW bunnies were Netherland Dwarfs.

All that being said, I have seen what "I" felt were very cute Vienna marked lionhead bunnies, and I don't even like lionheads.

I breed Vienna/BEW lionheads, and the ones with flashy markings sell as well as brokens. The flashier the better, I've found.

Seems that way in most animals. I think I will stick with the Vienna/Harley's I was first attracted to. It took no time at all for that 1st litter to find new homes.
