vent covers

There are a variety of intake vents on and near the floor with wide spaced bars. I'm worried our heavily shedding dogs will clog things up. The best place for there crates also happens to be practically on top of a large floor vent. One time to reduce allergies I put these covers on that were supposed to trap dirt but they would not be big enough. Would standard fleece off the bolt work or too thick? Any other ideas?

I would think the fleece would be too thick. What about nylon net? It would let the air through but trap the hair.

Window screen, maybe? My go-to for more stuff than my hubby wants to talk about!
