I have a .22cal pellet gun, max. muzzle velocity is 460 fps (500 fps is legal max in Canada). Do I aim for the top of the spine, at the base of the skull; or the centre of an "x" drawn between the eyes and ears?

I have to dispatch a holland lop today. This one was a house pet. :(

I'm not sure I would attempt it with a velocity that low...but I would aim behind the head, between the ears, pointed at the nose. The skull should be fairly thin their compared to the forehead.

Be sure to bleed it out.

The pellet may only stun the animal and it can come to after a couple minutes, bleeding ensures they are dead for certain.

Yes, we shoot at the back of the head, at the top of the spine / base of the skull between and below the ears. Pointed toward the mouth or nose.

Sorry you are having to dispatch a pet. :(
