Update on Amelia the Flying Num

Some of you may remember how she jumped out of her cage, received a bloody nose and an abscess on her nose. Well I was asking my vet some questions about it and he said to stop by with her and he would look at it. He did confirm that is what it was and offered to lance it. Since he wanted to teach some of his vet techs about rabbits he completed the surgery, FOR FREE! She came through it on Thursday with "flying" colors. Things seem to be healing well, we are rinsing it daily and as a result she is learning it is ok to be handled!

That is great! What a wonderful thing for your vet to do!

I know the general consensus here is to go slowly with skittish rabbits, but I find that if they get handled consistently for a few days whether they like it or not, they come around very quickly.
