I'm getting another Aussie Puppy!

There were 11 in the litter and I've narrowed my choice down to three.

A blue merle female

A red tri female

a black tri male

And I'll share some more photos since I had the chance to take pictures for the breeder and because these puppies are seriously adorable:

oh my gaaaawwdd they are so cute. I like the merle female. What kind of camera are you using for these??

The merle is the calmest and quietest of the litter but she's not shy or afraid. Which would be a nice change from Thor's go-go-go -play with me - look at me personality. I feel like she'll be easy to work with for tricks but she won't have that drive needed for sports like agility and disc.

The red tri has the drive for sports but she's also the biggest in the litter and I already have 63lbs of Red Tri Aussie. I'm not sure I want two crazy red dogs  but she is absolutely adorable and full of spunk.

The Black Tri is a little more laid back then the red but nowhere near as calm as the merle girl. He's one cool little dude but I'm not sure if I want another male Aussie since we also have a male JRT in the house. That's a lot of boys.

The decision is killing me

Anyways yeah I use a Nikon DSLR the photos were with a 35mm 1.4 lens

Oh my god! How extremely cute!!! I'm not really a "dog person" either so that is really saying something. I love the merle also. She looks calm and steady.

I think it's the Aussie charm. Thor turned a girl I work with from a cat person into a dog person. Now all she does is talk about dogs

I love merles, but if the red tri keeps her blue eyes, she will be absolutely striking! Blue eyed tris are very hard to find, and I would snatch her up in a heartbeat. But we have four blue merles already, and a black tri, so a red would be icing on the Aussie cake!

We have two pups right now- Hermione, a blue merle that I bred, and Sherlock, the black tri who will be her future hubby. The first two threads are pics of Hermione and the last one shows Sherlock, and his father who is a blue eyed red tri.

I don't like you. I am putting you on my ignore list....but my wife and I want the red tri female. How much do aussie puppies go for anyway? I'm seeing anywhere from $500 - $1000.

Kentucky is a nice place to come this time of year. Compared to Canada the 30F is like summer for you and on Tuesday it's supposed to be in the 60's! Like going to the Bahama's! You are more than welcome to come, (BRING THE PUPPIES!) and we'll fix you some food too.

__________ Sun Jan 27, 2013 1:46 pm __________

How do you tell your dogs who they can mate with? Don't they just kind of be with who they want or do you give them slotted time like rabbits? Been a LONG time since I've been involved in pregnant dogs so not sure how it really works.

That sounds about right, but I have heard that the blue eyed tris with lots of chrome (full white collar, white socks) can go for as much as $5000.

I sold my pups for $250- $300, but they are out of an Aussie sire and a Border Collie/Queensland Heeler dam. I sold the short coated "stockdog" pups for $250. The pups out of Hermione and Sherlock will likely be $300- $500 depending on coat and markings.

I paid $550 for Thor. He came from a working cattle farm had all his shots and then some his mum is registered AKC from a breeder in Michigan his father is pure working dog non registered.

This puppy is coming from a Show breeder whose dogs have titled in both Canada and the USA. Not only does she show she does sports (she teaches agility in the ring next to ours when we do sport foundation classes) Her dogs are champion agility dogs, disc dogs, etc.

The parents are completely health tested. The puppies are being health tested before they're able to leave (eys, ears, bloodwork to test for MDR1 etc)They're already learning commands and are litter box trained so far and know that when the lights turn out it's time to go to sleep annnnnd I'm paying double what I paid for Thor plus $100 on top of it all.
