Thoughts on this litters color based on a pet market.

Hi all,

This is my first litter of rabbits, and I bred momma admittedly, because of her color, and how many people around me were so interested in her color here in Idaho. Not just friends and family, but other people who saw her...Anyhow, any comments on these guys? Just little mix breeds, but very color-full.

around here that litter would take me perhaps 1-2 weeks to sell depending on the time of year.

I've tricolours in the nestbox right now that should I choose to sell them are already waiting homes....

Thanks all. This has been a wonderful experience. I have a grey doe bred to the same buck who throws these colors. I'm very excited about that litter as well. I plan on keeping the one with the white leg for myself. A neighbor is taking the lightest colored. May I ask what you sell yours for? Are they purebred or just pet grade like mine?

I think you got your answer. I just sold a litter and the lightest colored ones sold like hotcakes- then no one wanted the black ones.

I still have the two dark ones. But they arnt old enough to sell. They are just not reserved

I sell my pets for $15 here, but $20 at a show. I don't have funky colors going on, but really considering a funky color so they're easier to sell.

Yeah, you will have no trouble whatsoever selling every one of them. Try checking out your local craigslist and see what the going rate is. In my area I would maybe start at $35 to weed out snake folks and be willing to be haggle a bit.

Not sure which parent has that vienna gene, but maybe you could breed back white-leg and get some blue eyed white?

Are you saying the kit with the all white leg? We kept her/him as a pet or breeder, depending. Still have the one dark kit left. Though I just put it on this afternoon. I will ask 20.
