I thought seeing how a doe positions herself when she is receptive to the buck might be helpful to those that have not bred rabbits before.

Please note that to protect the privacy of the rabbits involved, their faces can not be seen:

In this second pic, you can see the buck's foot on the left, the doe's on the right.

And here is the buck "lifting" as he makes his delivery, just prior to falling off dramatically:

Haha this is what i saw last night. My jersey wooly was ready to be bred again and my young buck knew just what to do.

__________ Tue Aug 21, 2012 8:38 pm __________

I like how there is a bunny watching on the other side of the wire in the first picture. Haha bunny porn.

He doesn't have a name yet... maybe Voyeur would be suitable!

LoL ... My lil REW JW is very dramatic, her doesn't let go of the girl till after he is getting up from falling over. I have only bred him 3 times so far & each time he pulls the doe over with him like he is hugging her.

He is a youngster, so hasn't gotten to try his equipment out yet... but he sure seems to be studying the process intently! :geek: "Ah, so that's where it goes!"

Thanks MamaSheepDog, will have to keep those photos handy this Saturday. Maybe even let Luna and Neville "study up" before the big day. lol

 Maybe I should have gotten video... nah- it is over too quick- still photos are more useful in this case! ;)

Good luck with Luna and Neville! I can't wait to see their babies! :p

Tegan - thats what my doe looks like, my husband said if she bites him one more time she is going to be coyote bait.... Lol

Does that one rabbit have the start to a foot problem???

Yes, she is one of my oldest Rex does, and has small bare spots on her hocks. So far, that is as bad as it has gotten. Most of the time they just look calloused.
