My doe is supposedly preggers  I was sick day 28 so i put the nesting box in on day 29. i had to prepare her little are the she will have the babies in(hopefully), today day 30 she is supper lazy and you can see the buns in the oven tap dancing around, the only thing she ate today was a carrot and some oats to keep her in shape ;) . I am literally going nuts! I check on her every couple of hours, and sat in her neighbors pen(they are in old chicken coops) for probably an hour or so, she would get up, walk around, and go and lay back down, over, and over, and over, again, and again, you guys get the point. <-this was me minus the popcorn. How would i tell if she was getting ready for babies?

Has she pulled any fur for the nest box, or moved the hay around in it? Building a nest is a good indication. Pulling belly fur is also a pretty good indication the time is close. I also notice my does breath a bit harder and check their bottoms often as they get really really close to having them.

Well she's a first timer, she did mess with the hay a bit in the nest box earlier but not much, i have saved some of her hair that i have found that she may have pulled or just shedded out. Its a little stormy and windy tonight, and knowing my luck she will most likely have them during the crappiest time tonight or if tomorrow is crappy she will probably have them then

And the wait continues  Everybody's welcome! Everybody got their popcorn? I picked her up today for the first time in a week or so, i could feel her babies moving it is all so weird!

-- Sat Apr 01, 2017 4:05 pm --

Some babies have hit the ground!!!
