That is really nice Frosted Rabbits. I often wanted to bring SKY feed from upper Michigan but the drive was just to fsr.

__________ Mon Dec 24, 2012 11:12 am __________

SKY I almost forgot, I have stored horse sweet feed for months at a time two different ways. The first and best way is in an old freezer. It doesn't have to work or be plugged in, It just has to have a good seal in it. The second is in a plastic garbage can with a lid. This way it will last a couple of months any ways. That is as long as the barrel doesn't get any holes in it and you keep the lid on. Once it is below 42 feed will last all winter long in either method. :) Hope this helps. You can get allot of custom horse feed for $150. It took me 3 months to feed $150 worth to all my horses and animals on the farm. I got about 900 pounds of feed.

In the bag or out of the bag.

Either but I always dumped it in because the large plastic scoop for horses is a pain when the grain is in the bag. If you leave it in the bag it would work fine too.
You can store it Pretty much forever if you plug the freezer in.

Ut, Oh, need another freezer. I have two fridges and one deep freezer. There is more food in the dog freezer and fridge than their is in my own :)

This way you can afford to drive farther once every 3 or s0 months and have sweet feed made up for you cheap. I believe this will save you money on your feed bill even with the driving expense. :) I paid under $14 for 100 bounds of sweet feed up north. I may look into that around here as well. Just need to look for a grain mill in the county.
