REWs used to creep me out but now that I have a cali and had litter of REW and cali kits.... totally not creepy at all. just another color option. not my favorite but its there.

I don't care for REW. Mostly because I don't like having to figure out what's under that REW. I had a buck I bred 3 times, all the kits were the color of the Dam or or REW, never knew what he was.

As for BEW Rex, it will probably never happen. Rex people seem to be allergic to new colors.

I lucked out with my breedings so far, so I know my doe looks

But storm what she's thrown she's actually

I keep getting chins, seals, ermines (both blue and chocolate) and blue pearls from her and the buck together.

Just palpitated, (think this has been the "oh, that's what I'm looking for" moment) and I felt kits! She's also starting to build a next already, only two weeks in, I caught her raiding her hay slide this morning, so I just stuck some straw in there for her to fool with. Anywho, I'll let you know what the kits are when she pops!

__________ Thu Aug 15, 2013 2:57 pm __________

Today is day 28!!! I'll change the header and take pics when she pops, till then I'm just on watch...

-waits impatiently for kits-

But I just realized the header is sort of funny, because in Britain isn't a sooty fawn a black tort? o_O

Just got back home from selling my sheep ( I will cry myself to sleep tonight, but hey, that's for another post) and Cadbury is pulling wool ( fur, sorry, used to my angoras)!!!!! I hope I'll be able to post pics for you guys in the morning!

__________ Mon Aug 19, 2013 7:05 am __________

We have Popples!! Woot! You may still have something interesting yet, as castors, chins and otters all look the same when born. Or they might just be castors.

Either way, they are cute :)

Oh, true, I forgot about that!! I do hope they're are some funky colors, they'll sell better in a pet market. No one in my area buys for show. I had a friends husband ( who lives a block away) throw a fit because she was going to buy two rabbits from me for $50. Had to laugh. I usually drive between 3-5 hours ONE way for a rabbit and pay $60-$75 when I get there!

Ooooh, popples! They're soooo adorable. I imagine those VM ones will sell easily. Pet buyers love interesting colored eyes and markings. Good luck in general, and extra good luck with the castors (or other) and broken(s) if you intend to keep one as a breeder. :D
