Hey there. My harlequin holland lop doe had a litter of 7 kits three weeks ago. One of them is a solid white. We were convinced she had blue eyes but the more I look the more they seem brown. Is this possible or is she just another color? I will try to get a picture when I get home.

I had one like that once. She turned into a white rabbit with this light brown splatter over her coat. She was a real pretty colour but definitely nothing expected NOR a defined colour.

In hollands ermine is called frosty. My frosty mutts would be born pure white, but would get faint darker ticking later. Especially around the nose, ears, back and tail.

Someone in PA developed an entire line of solid white dark eyed flemish giants. They were genetically frosty but with modifiers selected to hide the darker hairs. Too bad they don't have add up now, or else I'd link you. :(

Ok thanks! It probably is a frosty then. The one on the left is the one in question. Does the one on the left look like a sable point or a frosty? Thanks for the help. This is my first litter and the colors are so confusing!

They both look like frosty's / ermine but sometimes very light sable points darken with time, but sable points won't get the darker colouring on just the tips of the fur

Ok cool thanks! I'm actually pretty excited now because I really like the looks of the ermine pictures I have seen. Hopefully they grow up pretty nice conformation wise.

Thanks! The darker one is the friendliest out of the litter. The other one is feisty.
