The dutch breeder actually has two grandsons. One showed a steel doe, the other a chocolate buck. They of course took BOB and BOSV. My daughter was the only other youth showing a dutch.
In Open, I think there was ONE other dutch shown against the breeder himself.
There are just no dutch in this area! I'm hoping to change that
When we got there, I said hi to him and took the little buck up to him and said "I believe this little one is actually a buck, not a doe." He confirmed that it was a buck and said "I'll get you a doe" and started for his rabbits. I've decided I want to breed pedigreed animals, so I told him I'd just keep this little buck (he is super sweet and my daughter adores him, although he has faults that will keep him from doing anything on the show table.) But I'm glad he offered to fix the mistake.
I'm planning to get a pedigreed trio from up north in July. We'll show against him in youth and open in November.
