So excited! We have 2 does due tomorrow~Updated w/bad news

I am so exited for tomorrow. We have 2 does due (Lilac and Lilly, both Lionhead) so we should have some REW, Smoke Pearl, and Siamese Sable, and possibly some Blue again babies again to play with. Now we are on popple watch for the next few days opcorn: . I know they are in there though, I got to feel them moving which is always so great to fell happening.

They were nice and wiggly when I was feeling them so hopefully they will all arrive safe and sound. Looks like there are 4 nice little wigglers there. I will have to check again later to make sure she was done though. No kits from Lily yet. Hopefully soon since she was bred the same day as Lilac.

Well, she started pulling fur a little bit ago so hopefully that means we will have more little ones shortly.<br /><br />__________ Tue Sep 03, 2013 12:38 pm __________<br /><br />Woohoo!!!!!!!! Lily had her litter early this morning. So surprised both litters were much smaller than last time. Lilac had 4 this time, last time she had 6. Lily had 2 this time, last time she had 5. Could this be due to the heat we were having messing with the bucks sperm? Also, with Lily only having 2, should they be able to keep themselves warm overnight since she pulled a good amount of fur and made a wonderful little nest for them?

As long as she made a good nest they should be fine, just make sure they don't have wind blowing on them.

I cant believe how cold it is today! went from hot and humid to only being 62 I have 2 litter due on the 5th, hopefully they make good nests!

yes its supposed to be cooler all this week! Could be in the upper 40's tonight! And to think 2 days ago I had the A/C on :shock:

That is Ohio weather for you! My Dad hates it and keeps saying that he is going to move to a different state. We did once. We were back 11months later. :mrgreen:

Jessica, are you guys still doing Lionheads? One of the breeders that I am getting some from has a great deal on some pointed white that I thought I would pass along to you if you are interested.

I am not sure. My daughter really likes the hollands, so she really wants to show those at the fair. I still like the lionheads though. I am thinking about selling the tort doe and getting a buck for the blue doe I have. I was gpoing to see what they have at the show at the end of the month

I have yet to figure out who we will be bringing to the show. Sometime between 7 and 2:30 one of the kits from Lily fell out of the hutch. Would not have been a huge issue but my dog found it before I did and tried to bring it to me. It got a puncture wound on its stomach and the insides started coming out. We ended up doing an immediate cull for it.
Now we are going to pull the last kit from the litter and put it in with Lilac's litter of 4. Any words of advice on how to do this? I pulled the nest box out and added the new kit and figured I would take them back to her in an hour or so to give the new kit a chance to take on the smell of the other litter.
Would it be wise to go ahead and re-breed Lily since she now has no little ones to take care of?

We went ahead and tried to use our junior buck Blizzard (he is almost 5 months old and has his man bits already dropped). He mounted her several times but did not complete his job, well maybe 1x he did. He did grunt and fall off once but when I checked her it did not look like he hit the mark. I must say, the time he did possibly get her when he was done he was looking all around looking to see if anyone caught him in the act. Had me cracking up, lol. Now I am really wishing we could arrange to pick up our new rabbits sooner since we are getting 2 new bucks.
