This weekend, IF the breeder can meet me at the show I'm going to (as a spectator only) I will be scoring a proven breeder Champagne D'Argent buck! 8D!!! Even better, he's being priced REALLY reasonably, about the same as some others are asking for juniors and seniors who've never been bred. VERY cool!!!

I think I will cry if something comes up and she isn't able to get him to the show, alas there are like NO Champagne breeders in this whole darn state!

Now I can't wait. Is it Sunday yet??? ;)

Now Kyle... why are we getting only one rabbit? Considering the dearth of Champagnes in Michigan, wouldn't it be prudent to get a doe or ten to go along with the buck?

Poor buck.... :bunnyhop: ...all by his lonesome....*sniff*

Well my plan was this: score a few junior does at the show (who comes to a show without a few to sell? :p) and then bring home that nice buck...and lo, the start of my Champagnes!

Alas, looks like that buck is not available now, sadface!

Hopefully I find a few nice Champagnes at the show. There's one in Lansing AND one in Ionia...I'm trying to figure out how to juggle rabbits. ;) If I buy a few at the Lansing show, what the heck do I do with them while at the Ionia show??? They'll die in the car...can I carry them around with me?

Good lord, what will this do to my bad shoulder????? D:

Shoulder, shmoulder! Buy a wagon to cart those bunnies around! Where there's a will, there's a way, Kyle.

Seriously, though- sorry the deal with the buck fell through. I hope you can find some good Champagnes- don't buy just anything because it is all that is available. If necessary, be patient and start with quality stock.

Oh I know it. I got burned last year on a pair of different breed...not making the same mistake twice. :p Besides, my whole herd will probably be descended from this original purchase, since there AREN'T any breeders I can locate in this state, so they BETTER be good!!! :D

If I can't get any Champagnes though, I do still need a nice big doe of some random meat breed to replace Jameson (my "loser doe") because she stamps her lanky, rangey type and skittish, annoying temperament AAAALLLLLL over her kits.

In a perfect world, I'll find some nice, classy Champagnes and either a New Zealand or Californian doe. :D

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm, a wagon or little cart isn't a bad idea...................

I used to show my Great Danes, so I have a crate cart that I use. Maybe you could borrow one from one of your clients if any of them show their dogs. They don't take up much space, leaving plenty of room for all of those carriers filled with bunnies you'll be bringing home!

I think I'll haul around some big cat carriers...I can fit a large rabbit in one or a pair of juniors...and I have MANY cat carriers........ ;)

My shoulder may give out before the day is done, but...if it means some fine Champagnes in my rabbitry, WORTH IT. :D

You don't need to haul them around- I'm sure the breeders wouldn't mind keeping them in their carriers until you (or they) are ready to leave. I have a sneaking suspicion that you are a friendly and engaging personality, and will probably make a few new friends while you are there. You might be able to park your rabbits with a new-found friend!

 Do you have access to a furniture dolly? And a piece of rope? :p

Most shows have a vender that has carriers and carts for sale at pretty reasonable prices. The last show I went to I bought a cart for $96 that costs over $150 at tractor supply.
