I have suggested a few times to my parents that we should expand the doe cages, and they have both agreed. ( the rabbits/equipment is theirs so major changes have to be talked out with them first, but they usually do agree.) However, there was always the set back of “well, we need three litters for fair so that you can all take enough rabbits.” This was my last year however, which means that next year we only need enough rabbits for one person to bring. So, that means we could finally do it. The cages are now 24” X 30” and there is only two of them. It’s not a big change, but I know it will make a big difference.
Also, with doing this we were finally able to move floppy into the barn. (I can’t morally put her in anything smaller, she’s just too huge.) You never truly realize how big an animal is until you have it side by side with a normal sized one .
