Well, although very inconvient and scary, maybe the other hospital will be able to treat his condition better so that he makes a full recovery.

Call ahead and ask if you can stay in his room with him. Many hospitals have those chairs that recline into a very narrow bed like contraption. Take snacks, drinks, music in the car.

Praying hard that this hospital knows what to do and he makes a smooth and quick recovery. Prayers for you and the kids too.

The UofA hospital in Edmonton is one of the best in Canada, the QEII hospital here is actually one of the worse out there so he will be in good hands! He should arrive anytime now. My dogs will go out to a friends place, and another friend will come feed the rabbits, rodents and reptiles. I fed the snakes last night so they are good for a week.

I never expected to have to go through this right now, we are still young! We will be staying at my Sisters place, she is getting stuff ready for our arrival. I just called his boss and now have his cell phone number.

It's probably a good thing that they are sending him to a better hospital, even though it is inconvenient. I'm glad you are waiting until morning to make the trip... It will be safer when you are fresh. Hope it all goes smoothly and that Gord is soon on the road to recovery. Keep us updated when you have the opportunity. Our thoughts and good wishes will be with you every step of the way.

My sister and sister inlaw went to see him tonight, they both live in Edmonton.
The Dr said that it is a sever ashma attack, one of the worse they have seen. His heart, kidneys and digestige system are all working good, it's just his lungs. They are using Helium and Oxygen to help expand his lungs and get more oxygen in. They are not going to do anything tonight, just let him rest until tomorrow. He was stable the entire trip so that is good. My dogs are staying at a friends place and another is coming in the morning to get the run down for the other pets. I hopefully will sleep a bit better today, he is improving and hopefully will be home soon!! Thank you all for caring and all your well wishes :)

I am so glad there is improvement. Sounds like really good new!

Keeping him and your family in my prayers.

Kids and I are home and exausted!! What a week! As of yesterday they have Gord ou of the coma, he is still sedated and drugged up. Right now he is breathing on his own, the ventulator is still giving him oxygen and volume. They hope to have him off the machines and home in a week!!
Thanks for the prayers and well wishes!!

So glad to hear he's getting better and may soon be home! [[HUGS]] Sending more thoughts and prayers for his continued improvement and homecoming! :)

I just called the hospital and they are pretty sure they are going to fully wake him up today and get him off the ventulator!! His nurse is going to call me later today and let me know!

Great news! So glad he is doing better!

I'm so glad to hear that he is improving! What a relief that must be for you!

Get some rest, as Maggie said... and go have some bunny therapy to help you relax. :lilbunny:
