What would one look for in a potentially show quality New Zealand red kit? I'm very likely going to be purchasing NZR, NZW, and/or a broken Red NZ in a few months... So excited! But as I would like to show them(they'll have a pedigree), what would I have to look for in kits at around 8 weeks old, to be good breeders and potentially show rabbits? And well... Also, what would disqualifications or faults be? Thankyou so much in advance for your time! :) :fireworks1:

Here is a guide to selecting a healthy rabbit - http://www.merckmanuals.com/pethealth/e ... abbit.html

Show rabbits are judged against a Standard of Perfection, SOP for short, here is a link to the one for New Zealand's - http://campbellsrabbitry.weebly.com/new ... ndard.html

You must be cautious in crossing NZReds with NZWhites (or blacks or blues) as you could produce fawns or chestnuts which are not showable colours - it is best to just breed NZR to NZR (or broken NZR)

There are also specific requirements on the broken pattern and how much or how little white is permitted in broken varieties but I don't know the specifics for NZ

Wow, thanks for the info! These were bred from a broken Red to a white, I believe. There any chance of them still being good, or should I just choose those with the correct color?
