Not to sure where to post this.

I am so happy. I finally found some very good stock from a lady who has been winning with her rabbits for a long time. It was a very long 11 hours round trip for them.
The buck was one of her show quality rabbits
missing from the pic. Is a mother with 3 babies.
I didnt make the buck pose. But you can tell looking at him.

He's a "chunk"!

So, you got the buck, a doe w/3 kits, and two junior does? Is the buck the sire of the kits? If not, then you're on your way with a good herd of Californians.

Nice lookin' bunch...congratulations.

Grumpy.

Beautiful rabbits, Mary Ann!

You certainly have a terrible case of Rabbitosis Aquireosis... flying them in from California, driving all over Canada to pick them up... when you:

A. Buy an SUV for Rabbit Transport
or
B. Remove all but the driver's seat from your current vehicle

we will be here for you. :)

That is so funny mamasheepdog. The thing is . We do have suv. And we did take out the back seats in my van for the rabbits to bring home. NOt all of them. When i reach the driver seat. Then i know i have a problem for sure.

:rotfl:

Pat-pat-pat... all will be well, Mary Ann. We love you and your van with or without seats. As long as you leave a seat for your husband and don't make him sit on the floor, there is hope for you yet. :)

If one of the three kits is a nice little guy...save him! You'll be set for a long time. Some of the really good Cals available today look like little round tanks with legs.

Crap! He's over seven inches high....sitting! nearer eight!!

I checked them today. And there is 2 bucks and a doe. The doe i am keeping for sure. One of the buck is larger than the other one. So i guess i will keep him.

You have some nice heads and ears, point color, and type on your rabbits. Pretty good way to start off.

Word to the wise: Don't get so fixed on running them across the table that you bypass your breeding operation in the process. When the does are old enough and start lifting like they're ready to breed, don't wait until the end of a show season to breed them. Time is of the essence in that case.

With that in mind, I'm thinking that bucks are the only ones around here that are going to get to show. Rexes don't tend to look good after a litter, might as well forget that coat after they've been bred. I don't know if NZ are like that, but I plan to show/breed a doe, I might as well forget about breeding/showing. I took my chin to one show, by the time and other rolled around she was 8 mos old. She is now a brood, will never see the table again, and hopefully I will have a doe out of her to show instead.

Every commercial breed rabbit I've ever raised has been like that. Once they hit the nest box, they're never the same in terms of showroom condition.
