First let me apologize if this is miscategorized, but I figured proper shipment fell under "management and troubleshooting".

Anyways, I have had several people contact me about shipping rabbits to them. I live in CT, and the locations haven't been to far: Michigan, Maine, Virginia etc..

I am not quite sure how to go about doing this, I know it can be done, but do you guys have any suggestions or information? Please it would be much appreciated!

If they are on FB , there is a network of people constantly moving buns back and forth. I've gotten buns from Wisc to Ohio. Someone got some from Pa to Alaska.

I am on facebook, should I simply pose the question to my New England Rabbit Show group or is there a group I should ask particularly?

-- Wed Feb 12, 2014 2:56 pm --

Are you planning on shipping by air?
I'm not sure, however most inexpensive as possible.

There are a lot of groups on facebook for rabbit transport, I'll post links to a few.

I've looked into shipping via air before, but it sure ain't cheap. The ticket itself is usually about $150-250. Then you also have to buy a certain kind of carrier to ship them in, special water bottles and bowls, they must have a health certificate from a Veterinarian, etc, etc....Usually adds up to at least $400 bucks.

The Nature Trail has a good article on shipping rabbits at http://www.thenaturetrail.com/rabbit-sa ... -shipment/

Another idea, you could try http://www.uship.com/.
I know people who commonly use this as a transport option for horses, and dogs. It could probably work for rabbits, too!
