'Tis the season, so I thought we could have a thread devoted to our favorite Christmas carols! Just find a video of your favorite carol(s) on Youtube and post the link!

We recently found a new band called Pentatonix whose version of "Carol of the Bells" we absolutely love. I never get tired of it! Before you watch it, though, I need to say that while it sounds like there are instruments involved, there aren't! This band is completely a capella! I only know of one song of theirs where they had musical accompaniment, and it isn't a carol.

And here is their version of "Little Drummer Boy".

Then there's Trans-Siberian Orchestra "First Snow".

That's just a few! I love those synchronized light shows!

Lovely selections! (a capella is so beautiful)

These were my long standing favorites:

But after finding Piano Guys, I listen to these two in particular *all year* around.

Shucks. I can't figure out how to add Youtubes ;)

But Twisted Christmas The Restroom Door Said Gentlemen and their 12 Pains of Christmas are old favs.

Piano Guys' Emmanuel and Carol of the Bells are hauntingly beautiful and entirely instrumental. And Rascal Flatts' I'll be Home for Christmas is great too :)

...well I'll add my favourite swedish song. I'm very boring, it's Jinglebells in swedish

Another version.. I like the song better in the first but the music better in this

In ''full editor'' you have a button that say ''youtube'' :) Like with bold, italc, underline etc, or inlining images. Press it and place the URL between [youtube ) and [/youtube)

I just yesterday discovered that group as well. Having spent 4 years at college listening to a capella groups, I can really appreciate the skill it takes.

Besides carol of the bells, here are a few of my favorites. I love all of the traditional, of course :)

I fixed your videos. This is how you do it:

Find the video on Youtube.

Copy the address of the page in the browser address bar at top. Don't use the embedding links. Those don't work here.

Paste the address in your post, and then highlight it and click the "youtube" button. You can also click "youtube" first, and then paste the link between the tags.

Happy Youtube-ing! :D

This has always been my favorite, makes me cry every time I hear it. SSSSHHHHH don't tell anyone I have soft side

I tend to be quite the traditionalist when it comes to Christmas music. Here are some of my faves. Hope you enjoy too.

Ok this was not originally a Christmas song but they have changed the lyrics and I love this far more than the original!

Zab: You are not boring! Believe me when I say I haven't had that much fun with plain ol' "Jingle Bells" in a while! :p

DumansArk: The two top ones were hilarious! And the two bottom ones were beautiful! :)

Skysthelimit: You are so right about good a capella. I love these guys!

LoraAnnIN: That was lovely! Thanks for sharing! :)

Mickey328: That's fine! Deep down, I think we all have a soft spot for the traditional stuff! :D

Paradox: Whoa. That voice did not sound like it belonged coming out of that guy's mouth. That was cool!

Here are two REALLY funny ones  .

Ignore the lyrics to this one, they don't follow what the song says :| .

Here's another version of "O Holy Night"; it's done by Mariah Carey. One of our favorite band's lead singers said that when she hits the high note, "it makes my head explode"... he was right!
