has anyone been affected by this ? How bad was it ? I need more reliable information from my rabbit friends!
Locations are helpful too

have you spoken with anyone from Australia who has confirmed this ? I know what Google is telling me but I’m more interested in what the people who have experienced it say about it - internet is in a weird place with information these days

drop a link to any other countries Rabbit forums if you guys find/know any - I’m guna try to get some more answers to my questions

The only vet I can find in South Florida to vaccinate only does a once a week vaccination program ?? Like I know we needed special US approval and some states stillll require preauths. For the vaccs. - so this can easily explain the weekly vaccination - but I don’t know I still find that odd , it doesn’t make sense with disease incubation period (1day - 2 weeks)

tbh you canttttt blame me ! After covid I don’t know what/who to believe 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Try this FB group - there's plenty of CORRECT information there, and some people who have experienced an outbreak of the virus.
North Americans RHDV2 Group

It's endemic in many parts of the world now, including all/most European countries. The website below is written by a specialist rabbit vet who has studied it herself - her information is accurate as she's been able to follow the disease for some years (RHDV2 has been in the UK for about 6 years, and before that RHDV1 since the 1990s).

Anyone know where to get the vaccine for RHDV? A case was just discovered on Maui, so it's now in the islands even if not yet on my island. It'd be better to get the herd vaccinated if possible, but I don't want to take them all to a vet and am hoping to find an online source for the RHDV vaccine?

You'll need to ask your vet. I understand the Medgene vaccine has been approved for Hawaii, so it should be available soon if not already. It is only available via veterinarians.

Hmm, it would have to be only available via veterinarians. There's thirty some odd rabbits here and the nearest rabbit vet is forty two miles away. He doesn't do housecalls and I don't want to move the whole herd. Guess it's time for extreme bio-security while I see what can be done.

Anyone know how much the vaccine is on a per shot basis?

I’m from Australia and have meat rabbits in a huge outdoor greenhouse. Never heard of this disease with other rabbitters in my area and all our rabbits are fine.
When butchering, meat looks great and heart & liver is healthy too.

You've got three strains of it circulating in Aus and New Zealand, and it's been endemic there for well over a decade. First seen there in 1995 when it was deliberately introduced. Maybe you know it as Calici? The rabbit owners I know over there call it that, rather than RHDV or VHD.
