Hi, Welcome to Rabbit Talk. Not working on Mini-Rexes, but was just curious about your Reds. Know there are others on here that raise Mini and Standard Rexes. Just lovely rabbits.

Wishing you all the success. Look forward to hearing about your red mini-rexes and also would love to see pics when you get them.

Red is one of the hardest colors to find. I'd sure like a pair in mini or standard, if they could be found.

Most people dont raise reds just mainly because there arent many good ones out there. I personally am not a fan at all. They ten to have a horrible coat, with a very thin frame. Dont get me wrong theres some good ones out there, just very hard to find. SNM rabbitry is selling out of all her stock, has some amazing reds available right now. If your in need of a red, shes the person to hit up

Hi
We have a couple we are working with. I had looked at snm page and am not sure if they are doing them anymore. ?

Or they are smutty.

I mostley breed red mini rex. I really don't keep much of what I get from breedings because I'm picky about how my reds should look. There are a few red breeders in MI, but honestly not that many and those who were, no longer want to do it anymore, so it's hard on the show table when you are competeing agianst yourself. I have heard of a few awesome red breeders but their stock is 100-200 dollars.

Now color should not mean everything, because type is important to, but I feel like it is a balancing act because I have had one with awesome type but had some smutt to him that i picked up at a show; took me a long time to decide if he was a keeper or needed to go.

My problem i have noticed when showing is honestly the color, it's the first thing a few judges have noticed and remark on really quickly, clean or smutty, to light, to dark. Its a challenge but I'm in love with the color and the passion at trying to get it just right!

I think the reds are pretty too, but the only good reds I could find were out of my price range

I have a pair that I just bred. The female is a little light and I am hoping that the male's color will come through. Hopefully, will know in about 27 days. :)

The Gessweins are from maryland I do belive, They go to a lot of shows and they have beautiful reds, I have a doe from them, shes the sweetest thing too!
