For a newbie 2 out of 3 succeful breeding is not bad right? Well my third doe finally kindled today and she only had three tiny babies. Half the size of normal but not peanuts. I am so tempted to cull this rabbit. She has been mean and aggresive since the first day I bought her( I have had her about 3 months) and know that she has had her first litter she is twice as mean. If these three runty kits die would I be better off to cull her? I am running out of patients with this doe. My other two were a bit touchy a day or two after birth but this one is lunging at me like Zena Warrior Princess with her mouth open.

dont blame a doe what she does when she kindles... But if she is a mean doe before hand. Then why do you still have her?Why did you breed her in the first place. ?
I was really hoping that breeding her would calm her down. She was only 6months when I got her and I really thought she would get better with age but apprently not. I had no clue when I picked her up that she was agressive. She will survie as long as the three kits but I think she is out of chances! She has gone from agressive to crazy agressive.

We have one that was sweet as pie as a kit. Then about 6mos or so, turned into a really cranky rabbit. We named her Princess Fussy Pants because she would fuss if we even LOOKED like we might open her cage. She had kits a week ago and for a few days, we could not touch her without risking fingers...now though, she is being very sweet. Maybe she just needs a bit more time.
I re-read what i put. It sounded a little rude. I just get peeved when people breed mean rabbits. Sometimes when a doe is ready to breed they get cranky.. But not as bad as you say. There was someone on this forum had a run in with a rabbit that she had to get 47 stitiches, It was terrible.
I had to learn the hard way, it was me that had to get 47 stitches in my arm. All I can say is get rid of it. I purchased a buck and WAS NOT told by the breeder that after breeding him how agressive he would be for a week after. I dont keep ANY agressive rabbits after that. Sorry to sound rude but thats just not something that I to chance again, glad it was me and not 1of my kids!!

When you say "mean and aggressive" what exactly is she doing? Has she bitten you? Tried to bite? Scratched the heck out of you? It will help to know exactly what she is doing....there is a difference between cage aggressiveness and just plain old meanness, which I WON'T tolerate here either.
She has been trying to scratch and bite since a few days after I got her home but not nealry with the fury or persistance she is showing after kindling. I went to give her oats today as a snack with a bit of apple and she even attacked the oat bowl. She would have bitten me today when I checked her kits had I not have gotten out of the way.She is a pretty doe but wow what an attitude. She is a half sister to my other two does who are gentle unless they have young kits and then still not like this rabbit. If you could imagine a rabbit on a horror movie she would be that rabbit.

there is only one place for an extremely aggressive rabbit,
that place is in a Stew pot! There a too many friendly rabbits to be had.
It would matter not to me how important I might have thought the rabbit
to be to my breeding program it would be humanely put down and,
if possible put to good use.

I would send her to the crock pot. Aggressive rabbits aren't fun for you or anyone that may have to look after her. When I'm not around, my friends enjoy coming over and being able to pet and feed my rabbits. God for bid any of them were nasty. I HAD a nasty rabbit....had (attacked,growled,lunged,bit my face at one point). Every rabbit I get, I like to test for easy handling (Understandable if they aren't perfect when they come from big rabbitries) and good nature. You can tell which are homebreds pretty much immediately, they are by far my best for handling since I've worked with them so much.
I think you guys are right. She is crockpot bound unless there is a major change in the near future. I dont expect the kits to live which will probably be her end. Why would they be so small? My other does that are also recenlty first time moms had nice big fat kits but these little one are about 1/2 the normal size.

Not based on rabbit experience, but dogs. Is it possible she has cancer near her ovaries? I am asking (more experienced group members)more than suggesting, but I had a dog with that once, and she never went into heat; we didn't think much of it until she got more and more timid (not aggressive, but a perplexing personality change). One day, I realized she could not SEE any more, so we took her to the vet, where he found her ovaries the size of baseballs :O He said the cancer likely had gone to her brain, causing the blindness, so we had her put down. Almost as sad as when my dad passed, I felt so bad that we had not known why she was acting that way, or I'd have put her out of her misery (vet said she was in pain) sooner.
