The spike balls are growing and have color. Lots of pinto butts in this litter.

About the only thing I know about hedgehogs is that I've never known a friendly one.

I'm allergic to them, I can't hold them with bare hands because if the pokey bits poke me, my hand turns red and swells up,

I'm always wondered how they even mate o3o.

Also, the babies look weird xD

But in a cute way....kinda. :|

Mine don't ball much. That's the main goal of breeding them. Most people don't know what to do with our hedgehogs including the vet. Normally those things ball up and for the vet you just put the mask for sedative gas over the hole. Not ours. They were running around the table and we had to try to hold the mask over their head as they turned around. People will come pick them up and they start running up their chest and arms to explore and no one knows how to turn them. Every now and then a hedgehog balls up enough and I apply enough pressure a quill breaks skin and then I break out with blisters. It takes hedgehog and human error though. If the spikes are going in you aren't handling the hedgehog right except sometimes initially pushing on the big ones enough to get them on my hand will do it. You have to roll them on to and between hands. You should not try to squish a balled hedgehog in anyway for the friction to pick them up. You don't even really scoop them. Aside from when they aren't balls. When they are running about you want to slip your fingers under their belly while keeping your hands flat so they don't feel like they are getting poked in their unprotected areas until their feet shift onto your hand.
