I just scored a really nice baking stone at the thrift store for $10. Now I can't wait to make homemade pizza! I have tried some pizza crust recipes from online recipe sites but none of them really gave that thin-yet-chewy kind of crust I really like. Anybody have a good recipe for a yeast dough crust?

1.5 cups warm H20,2.25 tsps yeast, 1 tbls sugar, 2tbls olive oil, 1tsp salt, 4 cups bread flour. knead, rise once.=2 10" pizzas

Add in some basil or oregano to the dough for an extra zing. I might need to go make some, I get hungry just thing about it. My pizza's usually end up needing to be eaten with a fork I load so much mess on them.

Our kids always make the pizzas- Firstpup is the dough-maker, and they all chip in on the toppings. Basting the dough with olive oil top and bottom makes the bottom crisper and the top just plain tastier!

the best part is.... the only thing we bought was the mushrooms and the cheese! Have home-canned tomato sauce, suausage from last year's pig, pepperoni from llamas we butchered in the winter, peppers frozen fresh from last years garden, spinach and onions from the greenhouse.... olives from the pantry (Ok they DID come from the store).....

I built a wood fired pizza oven a few years ago and found this recipe that is thin and works very good and freezes well too.

6.7 cups all purpose flour....1/2 oz.active dry yeast...2tbsp. brown sugar(optional-sugar adds on crisp)...2 t. salt ...2.1 cups hot tap water.

Mix dry ingredients, add hot water ...mix good rise 1 hour in 200 degree oven , punch down and knead to remove air and rise 1 more hour then use or freeze,

....will try that one next time, Lowell! Would like to come up with a thin, crispier crust for a more Mediterranean style pizza (think pesto sauce with fresh basil from the garden, with chicken, garlic, and artichoke hearts.....) This one I made had a nice rise to it and turned out kinda like a calzone, very yummy, and very meaty with the sausage and pepperoni.
