All 6 popples are still doing really good. Pulled them out today and they have full round bellies and look like they have grown already. they r very active lol And I was blessed with a very good mama she don't mind me messing with her babies at all!!!

As far as nest boxes go, this is going to sound silly but I swear it's working, I use 3 gallon Rubbermaid containers. I cut an entry in one side for the doe because they are rather tall. They are super easy to clean & store, I like stackable :)
My woodworking skills are not up to the job & I'm having fits trying to find 'real' nest boxes that I don't have to ship in from across the country.
The biggest drawback to the containers is they are very light & some does throw them around (pre-kindling), those does get a heavier box since I'd hate to lose kits

Zip ties are a must have in the rabbitry! Pierce a couple of holes in the sides and the bottom or back end and secure the nests to the wire that way. Personally, I would do that with all of them- even the does that don't purposefully move them around may accidentally tip them over, especially if they get startled by something.

I use them too, and wire nest, I zip tie them or put a brick in them. I like them because they are light and I can easily carry them and bring them into the house, no mess on the cream carpets.

The lightness is a drawback, I forgot one day and left the nest, it go tipped and I lost a kit.

__________ Mon Jun 04, 2012 8:43 pm __________

do they chew on the plastic? and if they do does it hurt them. I know mine chew on their wood nest boxes.

Only one box is chewed, just noticed it recently, then again, I don't leave them in until the kits have their eyes open, and not to long after that I take the box out completely (weather permitting).
