Okay this is a little strange but I have a little blue dutch. He seemed completely healthy and for the first month showed no signs of anything being wrong, but for the first month I had him he was only eating rabbit pellets with no hay only fresh grass. Well I found a place with good looking hay (place I had been getting it upset me so I stopped shopping there)and got it for my rabbits...everyone but him was fine...he started sneezing. I freaked a little bit, separated him from the one rabbit he was near and scrubbed out his cage before putting him back in it just to be safe. He sneezed for three days then was fine...two weeks later I tried a different hay and he started sneezing again, he is fine with fresh grass but hay sets him to sneezing and as long as he isn't near any hay he never sneezes. As odd as it seems I believe I have a rabbit that is allergic to hay. Has anyone ever heard of that being the case with any other rabbit? :-?

I have a doe that just started sneezing when I put the alfalfa hay near her and started feeding it. I figure she is allergic. I think I will move the hay tomorrow and see how she does.

It isn't excessively common, but rabbits can have hay allergies. Weird, but true. Sounds like your little blue Dutch is allergic to hay.

I'm glad to hear that...means there is one less thing odd about him :p
