Heya, I'm a weirdo from Canada, hoping to glean as much information as possible from this forum before hopefully jumping into rabbits in the next year or two. Got a cat that's allergic to common protein sources (chicken, fish, soy, pork, turkey) and it seems that the only way to affordably feed raw at this point is going to be to raise at least some of the meat she eats. All this beef, lamb and goat is going to be the death of me.

Welcome! I'm basically doing the same thing as you, lurking and learning. I'm also hoping to get rabbits in the next handful of years. I'm thinking about standard Rex for meat and pelts.

We also got into rabbits for animal feed. It's so cool that you're willing to butcher and breed! Have you experienced any discomfort with the thoughts of DIY-ing your cat food? Do you plan on "whole prey" or another method?
