Problem Rabbit.

I've had Ebony for almost a year now and he was a very good, lovable rabbit up until about October.
We have a little shoe box for him to potty in when we let him out of his cage but he doesn't use it anymore! He only uses the bathroom in one area of the living room (which is better than him pooping and peeing EVERYWHERE) but he literally poops and pees around his bathroom box. He sprays his pee on the wall by his potty box and he also kicks pee at me, and only me. It's usually when he's doing something bad and I'll tell him no and try to move him.
He rarely lets us pet him anymore either, he always runs away and causes mayhem.
I love him to death but he's real unpleasant to let out anymore.

What can I do to change his behavior back to my sweet little bunny?

Sounds like he's decided to be a grown-up buck now!

You seem to be his object of affection, and he is "marking" you.

It is possible he will settle down eventually, and go back to mostly being his old self, after his hormones settle down. That could take months, and may never happen. The other solution would be to neuter him. That should calm him down pretty quickly. It can be pricey, though.

Rabbits generally pick the spot they like as a bathroom. I would put a litter box in the spot he seems to prefer. The shoe box may also be too small a cat sized litter box works best in my experience.

He's growing up and full of bunny hormones. Honestly I've never seen a boy bunny "calm down" without neutering. It can be pricey but you can contact shelters or rescues in your area and they might be able to help you find a low cost option.

Yep...sounds to me like he's hit maturity...and that tends to change a critter...people and rabbits alike If you're just wanting him to be a sweet pet, neutering is the way to go...he won't feel the need to mark territory then and without all the testosterone he won't be so aggressive either. Without it, his behavior is likely to get worse
