i have two does both seem to be having consistantly late litters around day 34 to 35, i think one is currently on day 36 she built a nest but hasnt kindled. im wondering when i should start to worry, and what might be the issue. food? weather? at what point to i need to induce labor and how do i go about it?

Rabbits are not all identical. Some give birth a few days early and some may got a few days late. Around 40 days is usually the latest anyone has heard of. Frequently people will try to breed again after day 35 if there is no sign of pregnancy by then but if she's built a nest she will likely give birth soon. Sometimes breeding does seem to trigger labor. Any form of medically inducing labor is not suggested with animals. It is too hard to know exactly when the babies are mature enough and they might need those few extra days to develop properly. Patience.

I would guess that if their stress is up that might delay kindling. Have a proven doe she has been consistently getting pregnant 4weeks after kindling and then kindling on day 31. But I brought her home and she held out till day 32 this time and took 8weeks to get her re-breed. Then there is Tartar, she was a first timer and waited till day 32 as well. But, I think that had more to do with me being overly watchful and stressing her.

These are my only experiences in rabbit breeding, so I'm no expert. But with that being said, I have breed my share of dogs and they also tend to hold out in the birthing department if they're stressed.

Best of luck. Maybe your rabbits are fine and just like to see you sweet. :x :p   They do have a tendency to do that.
