Going through my new rabbit software I've got a lot of capabilities to put interesting things on my pedigrees. One of them is show points. The ARBA point system is standard from show to show so I can put down exactly how many points the parents or the rabbit has earned at shows.

Would anyone find this good information to have when looking to buy a rabbit, or is it not a big deal? I would think it would add a little bit more information to the buyer instead of just going off the usual "show quality" advertisement you get from breeders. I think it would also help distinguish legs. A leg gained with a lot of points on a BIS is a lot more significant than a leg gained with 5 rabbits and three exhibitors. Even though a leg is a leg from a technical standpoint.

Just seeing what everyone's opinion is on this if they would like to see this as a future trend.

In Kintraks, you can add extra sections for things other than weight, ear #, reg #, etc. You can make up your own.
If they are buying to show, might be helpful. I'd love for the genetic code for each rabbit to be listed in a ped, that would be nice.

All of that is there on this one, and those three are pretty standard show wise right now as well as legs and GC#. But I've never seen points on a pedigree which is where I think the next step should head for show rabbits.

I haven't thought about it yet. I don't even belong to the breed clubs of my buns except SF, but I know that the breeder I've been getting my JW from just got the Sweepstakes, and she pretty much shows in some stiff competition, so the info may be useful to many people.
In AKC, points are awarded based on number of dogs, so there for me it makes a difference. But with both, you can load shows up with all of your own animals if family members help.

That's true, but even then, if you loaded it up with your own rabbits, and that rabbit is the best, it'll have the most points and you can distinguish it from the other kits someone might try to sell you.

It isn't about club points though, it's general show points. If I was going to put points on our Lilacs, I would get to put down maybe two or three shows a year out of the 15-20 we will go to because Lilacs in a sanctioned show we usually have to drive at least 5 hours. Then you get into situations where the breed isn't sanctioned yet you still get a good turnout like we did at an Iowa show where 18 SF's showed up from 6 breeders.
