I got a doe about a month back.
who led me on a merry chase of.. Can I convince you to eat? Can I convince you that my water isn't poison? Can I convince you to live? I pulled out every trick I have in the book to sweet talk this girlie.
Took two weeks of straight feeding on grass to even get her to eat hay and finally some oats and then to eat some pellets (all because I cleaned out her cage - she was fine until I did that!).
Anyways, figured lack of eating would have nullified any pregnancy as she was bred before I got her.
AND she never acted preggers or even looked it.
Today...two days past due... three kits in the box. Made a nice nest and everything.
All in all... a very pleasant surprise. Miss Sera is a mommy!
