I have even used raw loafer, yep thats right the same thing you scratch your back with. lol

Do you mean loofah? The "natural sponge" that is a type of squash?

Because here, a 'loafer' is a soft, comfy man's shoe typically made of leather. I imagine they would work as back scratchers... especially raw... leather tends to get rather floppy when when boiled! Then again, cooking in the oven for a bit would probably make a stiffer back scratcher... ;)

I think I have some loofah seeds if that is indeed what you are referring to! :)

Pine cones could be used to stick in little treats like fruit perhaps, I've discovered from a toy-making website. Isn't that a cool idea? Yet to try that one as my kiddies only have had their bunnies for a few days now ;D

I never thought of that!

Come to think of it, you could stick hay inside whiffle balls, even... :p

I'm readin thru before making a whole new post and found this thread...With my concerns about roughage and getting a couple of the rabbits poo back as it should be i was looking for info on the pine cones.

What type of pine cone is safe and useful ??? we have three different kinds...

one is longish and slender.

one is stubby and chunky

then there are the hemlock pinecones... but i don't think they would be good to feed.

So would someone please bring me up to speed on the " proper feeding of pine cones" ???

Thank you. :bunnyhop:
