I did not realize I had ordered Parsnip seeds. So, the packet indicates that one should MOW the tops before digging, to avoid irritation caused by the leaf sap. I am pretty sure the root is fine for rabbits, Anyone know about the leaves? The rabbits will be getting fresh greens from the forage root crops over the summer..

I intend to 'store' the parsnip in ground so they can naturally sweeten. Forage turnips and beets will be stored in the same manner.

I've heard conflicting reports regarding parsnips. The wild parsnip greens apparently cause dermatitis in many people. I certainly would do more research before feeding the greens to the rabbits.

I have never had trouble with parsnips giving me skin issues and I am allergic to everything. I have seen them on lots of toxic lists for rabbits tho. My daughter tried to feed one and they would not eat them.
