I've got a Holland doe (Victoria) that is on day 27 today, supposedly. I can't feel a thing in her that I'm sure would be babies. She had a litter for me last year of 4 kits and just days before she delivered nothing could be felt either. I don't know where they were hiding! This is her third breeding this year (the other 2 times didn't take) and she was really receptive and bred 3 times in a row. I've put her back in with the buck at least once a week or so since then and she is NOT in the mood. She plants her bottom firmly on the cage floor. So, I'm not sure what to think. Are there some does that are just not easy to palpate?

On a side note, her daughter Ivory is on day 25 and I definitely feel babies in there! This will be her second litter...her first was a disaster...7 stillborn kits. :( Now if I can just keep her cool for the next few days...we're supposed to hit over 100! We're using ice bottles, a box fan, and misting them all down with a spray bottle every couple hours. Hopefully all goes well. It's supposed to cool down some before she should actually deliver, thankfully.

oops i mixed this up for another topic*

edit:

i'm no good with palpating so can't help you there, but have you seen any signs of nestling?
i hope she gives you some lovely babies!
let us now how she does :)

another thing, after breeding, it takes 10 hours for the doe to ovulate, she won't accept the back after that so it's already too late to breed her a day after. i always breed them several times in the first 2 hours to increase litter size and it worked for me.
