I palpated my blue new zealand, I could feel a bunch of marbles. Does that mean a lot of popples are on there way? Or am i feeling something else?
Thanks
Tracie

Are you sure they aren't droppings? Sometimes when I palpate I can feel them in the digestive tract but they're quite small and hard. Babies usually feel quite a bit bigger and have the feel of a grape...firm but not hard.

Way to big for poo, i think. So i am keeping my fingers and toes crossed for kits. Lol

How far along is she? At about ten days, they feel about the size of blueberries.

Repalpated today and you can feel lil bodys. Checked 3 other does and they also are pregnate. I cant wait for all these babys. Still cant load pictures (from tablet) on here so will post them in my gallery for all to see. Lol

How far back are you supposed to palpate? I feel nothing but stiff muscle and organs if I am anywhere near the ribs. But if I feel between the knees, that back end, then usually it's empty space or poops. Is that the right area or what? Videos don't help, it's not something you can learn by looking...

I usually feel them (the amniotic sacs) between the back legs. I start in the middle of the belly and feel as far back as I can, and up toward the ribs as well. You are basically holding a fistful of belly in your hand, and your fingers are almost touching through the doe. OAF showed me how to do it, and that made learning how super easy. :)

Well gave blue bell a box at noon today and at 3:30 when i wnt out to ck on the meat pens she had 5 nice looking kits. Posting picture in gallery

The best way to practices this is on a cat if you have one that is pregnate. When you start, start at the beging of the belly at the 1st teat then EASLY squeze the belly together and slowly move down towards the hinney. If you feel anything the size of grapes/marbles then you get babys. Also if you know the day a doe is going to kid feel the belly that day it will help you as you can feel the bodys.
Hope this helps you

Poop is hard, kits feel like jelly balls the size of grapes. 5-7 days prior I can feel bodies. Depending on the doe and size of the litter I can count them.

I usually start as low down in the pelvis as I can get, then work my way toward the ribs. You have to squeeze your thumb and fingers together till they basically touch each other thru the rabbits belly. I will try to take pictures if I think about it....
