Hi, Skymya!

I hope the bunnies are happily settled in to their new homes this morning, and am looking forward to seeing more pics. :D Don't hesitate to call/pm/email if you run into any problems with diarrhea or anything else- it is important to me to know how they handle the stress of the move for future sales. I sold a trio about a month and a half ago, 1 Sr. and two youngsters like yours, and they settled in with no problems despite a 6 hour drive.

Looking forward to seeing you at the shows! :bunnyhop:

They are doing great.. The blue settled right in started eating and drinking before i even got her home shes so calm its amazing the hubby.. The little black is taking longer.. hes eating but freezes up if he sees you.. The castor is just the friendly little girl.. shes climbs out and climbs right in a kids lap no fear.
Happy to say the black is doing much better this morning.. Hes eating and moving around not so fast to freeze up. will get some pic in a min. :)

Glad to hear they are doing so well! I would take the little shy boy out and give him some "lap time" while watching television or sitting at the computer.

They are settled in the new cages..
Right now they have the nesting boxs in as the hubbys finishing off their wooden hide holes.
Each gets a crock of purina complete, a crock of water, bottle of water, and hay bites till i can get a good supply of hay. Multi water bottles due to the high heat in my area also till i get the 5 gallon water set up..
Been holding the black for a bit at a time.. hes slowly warming up as he returns uneaten to the cage over and over.. LOL

Finally got a better camera and new pictures of our rabbits.

Am feeding pellets , they get 10-15 on the lawn to nibble each day, bale of what the feed store says is a Tim/alf mix and a treat somedays its rabbit yogut and other days its apple oats treats.. They get all the hay mix they want and are keep in pellets at all times.

Working on finishing up the other wooden boxes so everyone will have the wooden boxes and not the nestbox till needed..
Need to work on the nail cutting.. Am bad at it human animal does not matter am bad at it..:/

Well.. learned that owls on the block are up to 4 in number.. learned also dont have the rabbits out at night alone as each time i turned my back to put up a rabbit i would have a fly by of a few feet by the end of 15 mins i was a wreck trying to watch in every direction at once for sneaky owls, never see owls so close not in cage before. When i put up all the rabbits and finished showing the owls my big stick they landed in the next tree to laugh and drool at the caged dinner.

They look great, Skymya!

You might not want to put the buck out with the girls for exercise though- he may breed them anytime!

Sorry to say we lost the broken castor doe to heat/dog chased..
But the other two are doing awesome..
Was weighing in a 7pounds 10oz for the black Buck, and 8 pounds 1oz for Blue doe a few days go..Going to reweigh in a min. I have noticed in the last 4-5 days my female seems to have put on the weight the feeding been the same, also i have noticed when picking her up the last few days she filled out around her nipples alot. I hoping to see her nesting soon? They had gotten out and together for a while about 3 weeks ago..

Skymya,

So sorry to hear you lost the broken castor! Accidents happen. :(

Are you still feeding hay? Cloud should start gathering it up when she feels the urge to nest. I usually put a nest in at day 28. I just had two does kindle on day 32, so that may be a bit early, but better safe than sorry!

Breeding solid to solid, you wont get any brokens. PM me if you are interested in getting another broken doe. I have quite a few to choose from right now. :)

Am feeding pellets usually 1 cup a day they rarely eat it all , they get 10-15 on the lawn to nibble each day, i have a bale of what the feed store says is a Tim/alf mix, 1 yoggie treat, and 1 apple treat.. :) Am hoping she will start to horde that hay up..

How soon is it normal to kindling that her teats start fill up? its a marked diff in 3 days..
Am counting the days in my head when they got out and it might be closer to 4 weeks then 3..

Popples!!!
I bring the rabbits in for the hot part of the day.. its 95 plus for days.... My blue doe was all growling this morning she growls every morning but this morning she flashed her teeth as i bring her inside.. Then I checked her an hour or so later and she had pulled out a mouth of fur!! its been about 35 days she has a nestbox but been ignoring it the last few days i had just about given up.. i went out side to get the nestbox from the big cage and a kid came out screaming theres a baby in the floor! she had a few in her tiny insidedoor cage (small has they are only in them for short periods of time when the heats bad) they started to craw out all within 5 mins!!! I freaked out she freaked out.. Arg as a mother of 5 i have to say am ashamed of how bad i freaked out, i mean it was her first time.. The only blue was (light/lightblue) didnt look right and has passed. Tthe rest 8-9 its hard to count them all seem to be Solid black rex like daddy.. I got a big tub and put a lot of timony hay, torn up tissue paper make little nestlike mount(another epic fail), She got in and started to throw the stuff about and the babys! Gave her a second nest box that she ignored and shes now laying about on the cool tile ignoring the little popples.. Am ignoring the babys for the most part they are in quiet corner shes seen them crawled in and out a few times since then nothing (2 hours.. Waiting till kids go to bed tonight and the other rabbit goes outside.. Momma will be inside i think in the tub i hate to move the babys again so soon! Heres to keeping my fingers crossed i didnt mess up too big first time out of the breeding gate.. :)

try to keep them all together, so they can keep each other warm. Do you still have them in the tub, or were you able to get them into the nest box?

she still wants nothing to do with the nest box so atm they are in a huge plastic tub lid turned sideways so its dark inside with the nestbox sitting next to it..babys are all together so they are warm i been checking on them and keeping a tissue on top to keep the chill off from the cooler.. She wont leave the room they are in which is unusual for her she loves to have run of the house so hoping her mommy genes are kicking in.. Am going to move the babys into the nestbox in the morning once all the kids are at school and its quiet here..
Having them in the box will make it easy for me to move them inside and outside of the house when its 90 degrees plus out side..

__________ Tue Sep 04, 2012 7:18 pm __________

Got a couple picutes of my new poppples!
