Greg put a trap behind the pen that had the raccoon tracks on top of it. We locked up the barn cats for the night and have high hopes of catching a raccoon tonight. Fingers crossed!
But.... that Could be a good thing.... makes the critter think it is a "safe" food source . Quite ofter we will have the live trap door so it won't close for a couple nights just for that reason.
( also... try watermelon rind smeared with peanut butter... cats are Not attracted to it...coons luv it !!)
Coons ain't cute at all. Coon I caught was ugly and fat. He sat there in silence as I walked around and messed with the cage. He only growled and lunged at me after I kicked the trap to see if it was alive or messed up in the head.
Set that trap again! Keep it set, either there or further away. More will come.
I've only caught one coon, pissing me off cus I know there's more.
