Hey , rabbits! I love rabbits! All they ask me for is a bit of feed in exchange for their affection ..... Really , some of them show genuine affection ..... (Or am I crazy?!)

Not crazy. 3 of my rabbits are affectionate. My mini lop doe who was an angry but great mama, is a sweetheart now. I open her cage (the front swings down) and she climbs up the door and loves the attention. My Holland Lop buck (Mr Loveable) is by far our most affectionate rabbit. He goes bonkers when I approach his cage standing up waiting for me to open the top. If he could I think he would jump into my arms. He loves to be held and petted. He also makes a buzzing sounds when he sees you. It is very strange and he is the only rabbit that does it. His son Beefcake (my avatar) is the third bunny that is very affectionate.

My other rabbits are friendly although some are skittish, but I wouldn't describe them as affectionate.

I hope that our rabbits end up being affectionate and liking attention! By yesterday (4th day here) our buck Shaggy has already started coming right up to the door when I open the cage. He shies back if I reach to pet him, so for now I am just letting him sniff at me. He even stood on his hind feet to get up closer to my face to sniff at me. :D I've started holding onto his herb tray while he eats them, and feeding him small twigs off the apple branches by hand and he takes them happily. Hopefully this is the start of a good relationship!

The girls still just huddle back in their corners, but Velma has a couple times started doing the Bunny 500 when I was looking at her, but then turned my back to pay attention to Shaggy on the other side of the aisle. Is she trying to get my attention? No idea, lol.

Since I started showing rabbits, I've met SOO MANY rabbits that I'd rather have on the dinner table than the show table. I cull for no good reason, if only to reduce the amount of scratch marks on my hands. (number two reason why I don't sell pets, these guys aren't suitable for pets. they come from show breeders that aren't interested in pets to the temperament is poor).
