OOPS!! I had a group of jrs all in together(a lionhead doe, and a pair of hollands(buck and doe)) and some time in the last 3 days, my holland buck had his testicles drop. He is 15wks old. The does are 14wks(holland) and 11wks(lionhead). I separated him from them as soon as I saw his testicles, but how likely is it that the damage is already done? I don't know that he's shown any romantic tendencies towards the does(I usually separate by gender, but the group was getting along so well, I just left them be.)

It is quite likely. I've known them to breed at about 12 weeks.

I had a doe get pregnant in a Lionhead litter when they are around 12 weeks. I was shocked when she started pulling fur. I got a nestbox in just in time but all of the babies were doa. They looked very, very small.

Welcome to my world, BH!!! :p

I had a growout litter that had gone unbutchered for various reasons. At 19 weeks, one of the does was pulling fur. A couple of days later, she kindled 8 healthy babies.

Obviously, she had been successfully bred around 15 weeks. :?

We finally got to where we were able to butcher all the bucks, and we kept the does in case they were pregnant. So far, we have three litters out of a possible 5, with the most recent being 2 days old now.

Each of the does will be butchered with her litter, as they reach a good weight. I hadn't planned to keep any of these does, and I still don't want to -- they're just not the size, cleanliness, etc. that I want. An abundance of babies is nice, I admit, but this is getting a bit nuts!

:hmm: ...and Mystan'g influence continues to spread throughout the RabbitTalk community...

Yup. :| It's all his fault. He's a bad influence.

But at least everybody has lots of baby bunnies now, so I guess it isn't all bad...

-- Sun Jun 01, 2014 12:19 pm --

Don't tell him I said that, though. He must continue to live in fear of repercussions for his questionable behavior. Miss M, I hope you have "the chair" handy.

Right here: :chair:

Don't tell him that because of his influence in my rabbitry, I now have two litters inside because their mothers are in the same cage and they were born two weeks apart, which means I always have little fuzzballs to play with. Wouldn't want him to know that it's fun.

I think I have chocolate steels! :p

*ahem* I mean, this is not good.

LOL  Muhahahaha - You're all welcome. I'm here to serve the community :) And congrats on the chocolate steels. Now I'll be off to see the doctor about this splitting headache I mysteriously ended up with :doc:

He didn't seem like he had any interest in the girls. So I am hopeful. I guess I have had a 4mth old kindle, once, she came back to me at 3mths and pregnant.

Nyess... I figured you would have it near to hand for just such a case as this.

Get control of yourself, Miss M! This unseemly show of enthusiasm will only serve to encourage Mystang's wayward influence! :nono:

Better. Much, much better.

You are doomed, Bad Habit, especially since Mystang has brought his infective influence to this thread.

I'm looking forward to seeing your first generation lopped lionheads! I bet they will be ADORABLE!!! Just think- the start of a whole new version of loppy maned cuteness! They'll sell like hotcakes... you are gonna be rich! :money:

*Ahem!* I mean, what are you going to do with a litter of maned mutt rabbits? Whatever were you thinking?!?

Mystang... be a man and come over here to accept disciplinary action. Miss M, the chair please... :chair:

Lol I had lionlops before, I could hardly GIVE them away :p. The hollands will be nice, though, they go for 50$ min around here.

I shall remain ever hopeful...

But since he's got testicles, what would it hurt to give him a try on my 10mth smoke pearl doe...

I think Miss M chaired him while you weren't looking, and that's why he had the headache. But since we're not certain I suppose it wouldn't hurt if she did it again, just to be sure. Maybe you need something bigger than a chair, Miss M?

Second time's the charm, right? No... um, wait... THIRD time is the charm.

Good luck anyway!

Yes! He needs to be "proven", does he not? :p

Oh, Miss M "chaired him" all right... but then he had the audacity to try to laugh it off and say

 You could be right, TRF. :?

At times, I have seen Miss M resort to the hammer :bash: or the ray gun :annihilate: for especially difficult cases.

We may need to pull out the heavy artillery to deal with this particular problem. We could send him a plague of :mosquitos: , curse him with insomnia :countsheep: , or silence him :shutup:by requiring his posts be "approved" prior to posting...

Obviously, this case will require careful consideration, weighing the problem of lack of fertility to overabundance. :bunnyhop: :lilbunny: :lilbunny: :lilbunny: :lilbunny: :lilbunny: :lilbunny: :lilbunny: :lilbunny: :lilbunny: :lilbunny: :lilbunny: :lilbunny: :lilbunny: :lilbunny: :lilbunny: :lilbunny: :lilbunny: :lilbunny: :lilbunny: :lilbunny: :bunnyhop:

As always, the input of our general membership will be taken into careful consideration in our proceedings, and we value your input. :)

Oooh! All excellent suggestions, Half Pint! I bet his wife (and kids!) would approve!

Hey Mystang, send some of that voodoo you're doing up north please. I've got two senior does I need litters out of and they aren't cooperating

So the chair wasn't quite sufficient.

Let's see... what a range of possibilities! :hmm:

Yes, after careful consideration, I think I've got it! Your punishment, Mystang:

You are to be abducted by aliens  , who will then do mosquito tolerance experiments on you :mosquitos: .

That should do it. :)

Well, BH is in Ontario, I believe, so perhaps the popple invasion will spread to you before long! :p

We never saw any interest in that cage, either... but the fourth doe of five just kindled today!

Well, that's what I'm thinking, LOL. Give him a chance to do the dance with no pants. The 10mth old doe, I got for free(no ped) because she is very hormonal and wants bred.

And if I do get some F1 lionlops, well... the dog has decided he likes rabbit meat, so it won't be ALL bad.

Or I could just box them up and send them to Mystang to deal with!!
