and develop a website, Any suggestions as to which of the free site hosts is the most user friendly to the cyber ignorant, like me?

I use tripod
I used their free site but then needed more room so went with their pay. so I am not sure how good their free sites are anymore but.....

I have built sites at webs.com (freewebs.com) and 110mb.com. 110mb gives you much more for a free site, and its only downfall is that it has a clunky name. Webs may have upgraded since I last looked at what they offer for free. I've built a large site there, though, and pay $15 a year for it. It has over 50 pages, and I finally learned how to do a centralized menu! :)

I tried a number of free sites (Webs.com, Wix.com, etc.,) and settled on Weebly. Really found it the most efficient, quick, and easy way to build a basic website without getting lost in all the fancyness (with Wix) or inefficiencies (with Webs.com)

My link is in my signature. Basic, but it does the job.

I love using webs.com I write my own HTML rather than the free templates and with that, I find it the easiest to use plus a less obnoxious URL.

I think a website is an excellent way to garner more customers.

I originally wasn't going to chime in on this post, but after today, I just had to. I have used webs.com for years, and always thought it was alright, but once or twice a month it just wouldn't work, I wouldn't be able to edit text, upload pictures, etc...and this would be both with the free templates and with my own html. Today was another day like that, so I checked out wix.com, like some suggested here, and I LOVE it! Speaking from my own personal experience, it is so much better than webs.com jmo :)
