Another thing you might want to consider is to find a traditional "eastern medicine" practitioner ... several decades ago, my sister was in a very nasty car wreck. She did the traditional doctor thing but was still left with nerve damage and back spasms, among other things. She has also been one of "delicate" health ... every bug that came down the pike seemed to set up housekeeping in her system and the doctors had to resort to some very powerful drug treatments to get some of it under control, but never really cured/healed her of any of it.
Anyway, after the accident, she was very upset that they sent her to a pain management clinic ... she didn't realize until then that the damage from the accident was permanent. I suggested she find the eastern medical practitioner and she finally did. While they couldn't heal her injuries from the car wreck, they were very insistant that they could have lessened the severity of the damage if they had been consulted earlier. Because of that, they talked her into letting them do a "full work up" of her health. At last count (12 years later) they have resolved her latent allergy to eggs/dairy, increased the range of motion in her damaged knee, back and right shoulder, lessened the nerve damage to the point she only needs her tens unit occassionally, completely cured her of a fungal infection that had attacked her while she was in college (20 years before) and got her off the "flare up" meds, put her through a whole body cleanse (nasty teas she had to drink!) that has improved other health issues to the point that her regular physicians have taken her off other meds, including the hormone replacement therapy she had to start because of early onset menopause (age 30) ... while her ovaries are not producing eggs, they have begun to produce the hormones again, just not at a level that would support pregnancy. The cleanse also was to cleanse her liver and she said she felt better than she had in decades ... evidently there was some sort of "back up" in her liver that was keeping it and her kidneys from filtering her blood properly.
While I am not advocating relying on eastern medicine totally, there are definitely areas where they can induce the body to heal itself in ways that chemical-based western medicine cannot. They also approach healing from the "whole body" premis and IMHO, understand the interconnections between the various body systems better than western medical doctors. In a situation like yours, Akane, you don't have anything to lose, but potentially much to gain. Hopefully, your physician will understand and can/does work with eastern practitioners. Sadly, my sister's doctor did not, so she found one that did and is much happier all around!!
