I get the Ivomec sheep/goat drench from the vet to worm my rabbits. I was looking at this stuff the other day and was wondering if it would be safe for them. http://www.bovidr.com/index.html I just saw that they make another product for rabbits but still imagine the sheep type would be a cheaper way to go if it is safe. It basically says it's emergency vitamins, trace minerals, gloucose, and amino acids that is given orally and absorbed quickly into the blood stream. For newborns, stress, and a number of other illnesses/conditions. @ 1 oz. per 100lbs so I wouldn't think it would be to hard to break down for rabbit dosage.

ETA: on the manufactures website the same ingredients are listed for all 11 species formualations.

__________ Wed Jul 18, 2012 11:04 pm __________

Just compared, the Nutri-drops for rabbits is $13.00 for an 8 oz. bottle and the Nutridrench for sheep is $18.25 for a 32 oz. bottle. Sounds like good stuff to have on hand for shipping, shows, ALOT of stuff.

I would buy the sheep drench, or even the bovine one if the ingredients are the same for all.

I love large animal products- you can't beat the price. I had giardia in my barn cat herd a couple of years ago, and the vet was going to have the meds compounded for me, which would have cost around $100 or more. I bought fenbendazole horse wormer instead. Figuring out the dosage is bound to make your head hurt, but well worth the effort!

I just talked to someone on a FB group that said it is the same product as the rabbit nutri drops just with differnt labels so dosing can be found on the nutri drops bottle, lol. Love to save money!

__________ Thu Jul 19, 2012 2:46 pm __________

1cc per 3lbs of body weight or 3/4 tsp per gallon of drinking water for 3-5 consecutive days. If anyone else wanted to give this stuff a try.

:hmm: I wonder what trace minerals it has- it might be a good option for those of us who don't feed pellets. I could add it to the water once a week.

Good idea Mama sheepdog i think they would be in the ingredients on the manufacture site (the link in my OP) I wonder if you could do the same with lesser quality pellets.
