So me and my sister were wondering what a Dwarf Blanc De Hotot newborn looked like *It's my dream rabbit and I plan to buy two to keep as a pet and for breeding & selling... Seeing as they were dwarfs we figure their babies must be smaller than a normal baby If somebody breeds these would you care to post some pics of the dwarf and maybe the regular sized (I guess that's what you'd call it) pics of the momma's with their babies

We want to get into regular Blanc de Hotot some day. :)

I added the word "request" to your title, so it doesn't look like you're showing off a new litter of kits. :)

I wanted some regular Hotot's because we keep our rabbits outside year round and I wouldn't want a dwarf to freeze seeing as they are so small and all plus the mini's just look adorb. And another factor is my boyfriend is allergic to fur so something small and out of the way would be great for us. He isn't nearly as bad as he used to be is I may say

Use google images and search: dwarf hotot kits :D
Are you sure it's the fur and not the hay?

It's the fur he is allergic to cats as well but he has been trying to expose himself to his allergies *His mom has two cats* and his allergies are no where near as bad as they used to be. My main question about the Dwarf is are their kits smaller or are they the same size? I mean I feel like they would be smaller but I can't find a good pic on google to use as comparison

Babies from mothers who are 3 pounds are going to be smaller but not significantly so, it also depends on the number if kits the doe is carrying.

The newborns of a 4 pound doe can be the same size as a 12 pound doe's if the there is just 1 kit instead of 14.

Conversely if a small breed has 8 kits they can be quite tiny and half the size of a meat breeds kits from a litter of say 6

Try googling "Netherland dwarf newborn" or "holland lop newborn" to get an idea of the size a dwarf Hotot would have. Since most dwarfs have litters of less than 4 the kits are really not much smaller than other breeds and around the size of a large chicken egg  well, except for the peanuts, hippos and max factors :D

I found some pics they do look a bit smaller even in a small litter but not much of a difference... When you hear of a dwarf you think of teeny tiny babies but now that I really think about the only difference in a regular and dwarf is the adult size.

I have holland lop pics..

I'd imagine dwarf hotots would look like that (size wise)

"Hippos, Peanuts, Max Factors"?

I looked into all the birth defects... Peanuts, Ma factors, etc. It's pretty sad the Peanuts are so cute though It's sad they don't survive

If both parents carry the dwarf gene, regardless of size or breed, you should get 25% peanuts

I had ND x NZ rabbits as a kid and I had true dwarfs who were pushing 8 pounds :) They had smaller ears and rounder heads than their siblings who didn't get the gene.

I really wish Peanuts could survive I mean if I were to breed dwarfs and get a peanut I obviously wouldn't breed it especially if it were a doe cause it'd be so tiny and all but I think it would be adorable. I wonder if there is a way maybe the could survive... Probably have to many internal problems to :(
