doe kindled while i was at work, came home to find a litter of 3. one looks like a runt, one is average size and one looks a little large. all 3 appear to have been fed, but one started screaming bloody murder when i picked it up, and continued crying for some time after i returned it to the nest. is this normal behavior? this is only my 3rd litter and ive never heard a new born kit make much noise other than a little squeak here and there. it seemed extra wiggly and had its mouth open when i handled it, maybe its just super hungry? im a fat guy and ive been known to whine when im hungry. i hope the things ok, with the last 3 litters being so small (2 {one of which was dead} 1 and 3 kits) i cant afford to lose any babies. ill try to link some sound in the comments i recorded a few seconds of its crying.

I'm no expert. I've had 8 litters so far, mostly Netherlands, one holland. A total of 14 live kits and 12 dead. Not a great ratio of success.

The only one I ever heard caterwauling was right before it died :x :p it was starving and not nursing. Syringe feeding didn't help. It died with a final gasping breath, I resuscitated it, but it died again an hour later.

Reaaaaaally hoping that's not your situation.

well its probably not starving because its hog fat and it cant be mroe than 9 hours old, but something didnt seem right. i hope hes there in the morning
