Well so far our 2nd litter has remained successful...I have pictures at 13 days and also at 21 days old! Been trying to learn my coats and colors....help me out? The brownish ones are Agouti Coat, would you call the redder ones chocolate, and would the lighter greyish be chestnut? We have one Black self, and two brokens black? Is that right? And ANNOUNCING "PD" kindled last night....seven healthy furless popples! All appear black self except the one on top that has a pinkish head? PD is a ruby eye'd white? And the Buck is a NZ Red. I thought 50% would turn out like the doe? Your thoughts and corrections are appreciated...I'm just learning

Not sure what your 2 different agoutis are (chestnut is agouti).
Your NZW is an agouti(chestnut) but he has two genes that basically bleach out all color and make him a red eyed white. Agouti is a dominant trait, so breed them to any rabbit and you should have 50% of the litter being agouti. I am not sure what is going on with the different shades, you have so I hope someone with better knowlage of rabbit genetics can help there :)
Your female is a chocolate, which is a recessive trait, you need a copy of the gene from each parent to make them(Your NZW does not carry chocolate). You don't have any chocolates in the litter.
If you breed 2 siblings together you will get REW's and chocolates. Breed a buck back to the Mom and you'll get chocolates and breed a doe back to the Dad and you'll have REW's.

I'm not great on colors.
Just wanted to say how cute I thought you rabbits are! :) I love that little black and white one! :p

Rufus factors will affect the shade of agouti(aka chestnut), kits who get more will be a brighter/richer red.

If there is a noticeable difference in the eye colour bewteen the kits then the orangey ones could actually be chocolate agouti. Once they mature it is harder to see the different eye colours.

The steel gene aslo affects agouti coats but it darkens/blackens the coats and I dont see any steels in your bunch.

The white on your rabbits is not due to the broken gene but the dutch (or possibly vienna) gene so they are 'Dutch marked'

Ahhh Thanks...we are loving it! I'm a bit partial to the black and white one myself! One of the blacks has white toes and also a little white line on it's face...tooo cute! Thanks for the info on the colors I'll check out the eyes tomorrow and see if there is a noticable difference.....After cking the new poplles again, the one with the pinkish head also has a pink belly....It is fun all these colors popping out!
